About Gossip Girls
We set up UK Gossip Girls Networking in 2016 and were quickly able to deliver a range of benefits to our members. From women only networking meetings to regular business events, we’ve got a proven record of helping women to get more from their business.
Our goals are to inspire and support women in business through our website, events and social media. We host regular networking events at varied locations across Cheshire where women in business can come along to meet like-minded ladies in a relaxed and informal environment.
We strive to make our events relaxed and never want anyone to feel nervous about their first time! We are both incredibly positive people and love building strong relationships and friendships with our members.
Our mission
Our mission is to encourage our members to support each other and help generate business by sharing ideas, business contacts and recommending services of other members.
Karen Bellamy
I’m Karen, I’m married and have two sport mad boys and husband! I’m also a huge cat lover and have two cats whom I adore, Hope and Pringle. My husband started his own business 4 weeks after we married and I know first hand the difficulties a small business can face. Dublin born, I moved across to the UK when I was 20 and worked in Credit Management for a number of years, the birth of my first child me realise I wanted to make a change. After a serious illness I made the decision to retrain to become a Holistic Therapist in my late thirties. I am now a Reiki Master and Energy Practitioner and I love helping people to relax and have a more positive outlook on life which extends into my work with UK Gossip Girls.
I love living life to the full and recently trekked The Great Wall of China to help raise money for Cancer Research. The trek took in some of the most beautiful scenery that I’ve ever seen and was a fantastic way to help support and raise money for a selection of Cancer charities. It was also a celebration of my recovery and it made me realise when you put your heart and soul into something anything is possible. Raising money for Charity is so rewarding and myself and Julie have hosted various events over the years to help and support those who need it.
Coming from a huge Irish family I am very chatty and understand the positive impact that supportive relationships can have on your life. My outlook is that we are not here for a long time but a good time! We have a holiday home in Wales and that’s my favourite place in the world as I get to relax with my husband, sons and my friends.
At the heart of my life is my family and friends. Being part of a community can have such a positive impact on your life and Gossip Girls is such a huge part of that. A positive mind set and a belief that you can do it can really make a difference. For me a supportive network is an important aspect of both work and personal life and it helps to make life so much better and more rewarding.
Julie Harrison
Hi my name is Julie and I am married with 6 children (yes 6), 3 grandchildren with another princess on the way. I live in Bramhall, Cheshire, with my family and 2 Bichon Frise dogs Ruby and Archie. My career started with a job as a nanny when I was young before starting a career in customer services for a bank where I made many lifelong friends and had some great experiences. In 2003 my husband set up an engineering business (the same year as we had our youngest son) and then in 2005 I left the bank to join the family business.
Relationships are really important to me and I very much value spending time with family and friends and creating fabulous memories with them, particularly in Florida which I adore. Being supportive is a big part of who I am and applies to everyone I meet be they friends, family or associates.
Another important part of my life is supporting charities and over the years I have been involved in a number of events to support Cancer Research and the amazing charity When You Wish Upon A Star. Back in 2015 I trekked along the Great Wall of China along with Karen to help raise money for various cancer charities, my chosen charity being Beechwood Cancer Care.
The Great Wall of China experience taught me so much about myself and has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life to date. I am a great believer in having a positive outlook and feel that everything is possible if you believe in yourself.
