Alex Walker Personal Training is a fitness and Personal Training service for women who want to be strong, healthy and empowered in their fitness.
I am Alex, a CIMPSA Accredited, fully insured level 3 qualified Personal Trainer with over 20 years experience in education and education management. I am an expert at providing bespoke and individualised fitness plans for my clients. I help you to set manageable yet challenging goals to reach your full fitness potential. I have a First Class Honours Degree in Biological Sciences and experience of working in the scientific field, plus I am a qualified and certified life coach. My background in science and education means I not only have the skills to help you improve your fitness, I can give you all the scientific facts and explanations as to why strong is amazing and how to get there.
My fitness specialisms are kettle bell training, resistance training, body weight exercise and I am qualified as a women’s menopause strength training provider – my fitness plans will help you to beat that feeling of overwhelm and anxiety and even alleviate many of your physical peri-menopause symptoms. As a mum of 3, I know how we can often neglect our own needs and will therefore be motivating and inspiring you to get and stay fit.
My fitness philosophy is based around improving strength so we can age healthily in a way that is enjoyable and keeps us strong throughout our life; improving fitness, improving strength, improving balance and coordination, helping weight management, improving mental health, improving confidence and most of all reducing the chances of injury that lead to a poor quality of life as we get older. I understand how hard it can be to go into a busy gym when you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing or you lack the confidence to workout in front of others, which is why I work with women non-judgmentally and supportively on a one to one basis, to get you to where you want to be, whether that be face to face or online. Although most of my clients have chosen to stay with me longer term on a one to one basis, I have also helped women to grow in confidence so they have been able to transition into exercising alone in the gym.

Alex is an enthusiastic&motivating instructor who creates a safe&fun environment for exercising. She always carefully explains the workout- outlining both how to do the exercises, & their benefits for our health. She tailors her sessions for all abilities & keeps a watchful eye to ensure we are doing the exercises properly¬ risking injury. Her classes are enjoyable&challenging, and I always come away feeling like I have had a brilliant workout!
I am so delighted that I chose Alex as my PT. Before I began exercising with her I had beliefs that “I couldn’t stick to an exercise plan,” “I hated exercise” and “weight training had to be in a gym.”
How wrong I was!
Alex’s workouts are fun and motivational and I love doing mine on zoom with her. She understands what makes me tick and knows how to push me to achieve my best. Spending my money on a PT instead of a gym membership has been one of the best choices I’ve made in a long time!

I am given a workout that I can do on my own at home or at the gym. I feed back my achievement to Alex and it is adapted as I progress, care is taken to personalise them to my needs. The PT session via zoom are always fun and enjoyable and I come away feeling great.

I have found your instructions in our Zoom classes clear and concise. Saying that I still get things wrong you have corrected my bad positioning, without making me feel inadequate!!! You keep me motivated by changing the routines which I have found effective.
Since attending your classes I have strengthened and my shape has improved more so, than it had after attending hours previously spent at the gym.
Also and very importantly we have loads of fun in the class.
I’m not really sure where to start, choosing Alex so start my weight loss and training journey is possibly the best decision I have made. I was feeling really low, I had put on a significant amount of weight and I was really down.

Alex is highly knowledgeable and professional. She does an excellent job of creating workouts to fit specific goals at exactly the right pace. She stretches and encourages without ever asking me to step too far out of comfort zone.
Alex is a fantastic personal trainer. I started with Alex because I wanted to get in shape for my wedding and when I said what I wanted to achieve she was so enthusiastic. Every training session I have with Alex I enjoy and always feel like I have achieved something new. I highly recommend Alex if you want to get in shape.
I had a number of PT sessions with Alex, both in person and online. I felt Alex listened to my needs and goals, and structured my routine around that. She is easy to chat to, and very knowledgeable.
