Fill Your Heart Gardens Garden Design – Advice - Lessons
Everyone’s idea of garden happiness is different, and I will work with you to help you get the garden YOU really want – whether that’s a brand new vision and design, new ideas for a neglected corner, or just a planting plan to bring new colours and shapes to your existing space.
I also offer fun and informal gardening lessons, in your own garden, to develop your confidence and understanding or help start you on a new gardening hobby! And I love helping people create kitchen gardens full of fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit.
Fill your Heart is a small, friendly Bramhall based business and owned and run by myself, Jess Hadfield. I first worked as a Professional Gardener for the National Trust at Ham House in London, before re-training as a designer. I’ve since worked on a number of residential projects. In June 2019, my ‘Think Again’ garden won a Silver Award at BBC Gardeners World Live.

We asked Jess to design us a garden for our new build house as the plot it’s in is an unusual shape, and, it’s as non-gardeners ourselves, we need something easy to create and look after but at the same time to look fabulous. Jess has come up with a design we love! We can’t wait to get started putting it into action and seeing the real life product. It’s simple enough for us to create and look after but will make it look like we’re experts in the garden!! We couldn’t ask for more!
can’t recommend Jess highly enough. From our initial meeting everything has run so smoothly, she spent time listening to us and what exactly we needed out of our garden. She gave us several ideas which were all fantastic, we have used her plan to have building works done and she has bought and planted everything….. we absolutely love it and can’t wait to see it grow and mature.
Absolutely recommend Jess. She came to our house and spent two hours chatting through some brilliant ideas and came up with a broad plan of action for us to follow to achieve our dream garden! Jess was so helpful and lovely too. She worked with me to select the best plants for beds at the front of our house to give all year round interest and impact. I’m a complete novice in the garden so it was such a relief to have her help!
Jess was recommended in Gossip Girls a couple of years ago and came round and planned my garden pre-Covid. When I finally had the fencing/paving/patio done we met up again and Jess designed, sourced and planted my beautiful garden. We were struggling with a North facing garden that was complex and needed inspiration. Through Jess’s workshop service we were able to brainstorm ideas and discuss our wishes which she brought to life with 2 plan variations.
These plans we are now using to create our dream garden and we couldn’t of done it without her!

Our garden was well established but needed a facelift. We started with an initial two hour consultation but soon realised that we were going to need more. Jess suggested that we enlarge some of our beds and came up with a planting plan. She then sourced all the plants for us and did most of the planting. We are really pleased with the garden and I in particular have rediscovered the pleasure of gardening. Jess has been an absolute pleasure to work with and we cannot recommend her highly enough
